About the role
Visa is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its VAS Innovation team in Bengaluru. The role focuses on developing innovative software solutions using Generative AI, Agentic AI, modern integration patterns, and enterprise technologies. Engineers will contribute to the modernization of Visa's Value-Added Services platform and build scalable, secure, high-performance solutions that integrate AI capabilities with existing business processes. The role requires 3-5 years of relevant experience and strong expertise in Java or Python. Candidates should have hands-on experience building Generative AI applications, conversational AI, RAG architectures, and full-stack AI systems. The position also involves API development, cloud-native deployment, Docker, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Redis, CI/CD, application security, and enterprise troubleshooting. Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement innovative software solutions using Generative AI and modern integration patterns.
- Build and integrate AI-powered solutions with existing enterprise business processes.
- Develop Generative AI, conversational AI, and RAG-based applications.
- Design and develop APIs for Value-Added Services applications and platforms.
- Collaborate with Product, Operations, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Client Support, and Product Development teams.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and apply them to new business and technology opportunities.
- Contribute to technology modernization initiatives.
- Improve technology stacks, development processes, and engineering methodologies.
- Build software with strong focus on quality, security, performance, scalability, availability, and resilience.
- Automate software development, testing, and deployment processes.
- Configure and maintain build and deployment systems using Docker, Jenkins, and Kubernetes.
- Support incident, change, and problem management processes.
- Perform troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
- Work with large datasets and perform exploratory data analysis.
- Implement data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation workflows.
- Stay current with AI research, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
- Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in a relevant field.
- Expert-level proficiency in Java or Python.
- Experience building Generative AI applications.
- Experience with conversational AI and RAG architectures.
- Proven track record of leading AI projects from conception to deployment.
- Ability to design and implement full-stack AI systems.
- Experience designing robust AI systems capable of handling distribution shifts and adversarial attacks.
- Strong understanding of current AI research and industry trends.
- Experience with ReactJS, Angular, or Node.js.
- Ability to work with large datasets and perform exploratory data analysis.
- Experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
- Experience with Docker, Jenkins, and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and error handling.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Knowledge of version control and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of ML model deployment practices.
- Experience with Redis or similar distributed in-memory technologies.
- Experience with OAuth 2.0, SSO, and authentication protocols.
- Knowledge of application security, SSDLC, and cryptography fundamentals.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
