About the role
Merkle Science is hiring Software Engineer Interns with a potential pre-placement offer (PPO). Responsibilities
- Develop backend applications using Python and object-oriented programming principles.
- Build and maintain web applications using Django, FastAPI, or other Python web frameworks.
- Work with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
- Design database schemas, indexes, and optimize queries.
- Implement caching and work with Redis.
- Design and develop REST APIs.
- Apply strong problem-solving and DSA fundamentals to software engineering problems.
- Use Git and collaborative version control workflows.
- Contribute to software development projects involving scalable backend systems.
Requirements
- Final-year B.Tech, B.E., or Dual Degree student graduating in 2027.
- IIT, NIT, or IIIT students only.
- CSE, IT, or closely related computer science branches only.
- Strong fundamentals in Python and object-oriented programming.
- Knowledge of Django, FastAPI, or any Python web framework.
- Understanding of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of schema design, indexing, and query optimization.
- Basic understanding of caching and Redis.
- Understanding of REST API design principles.
- Strong problem-solving and DSA fundamentals.
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative version control workflows.
- Strong academic record and demonstrated coding ability.
- Open-source contributions, external/personal projects, or prior internship experience are preferred.
