About the role
TravClan is hiring Software Development Engineer I (Backend) to build scalable backend systems powering its travel-tech platform. Engineers will work on microservices, APIs, payment systems, booking platforms, and high-scale distributed applications using modern backend technologies while collaborating closely with product and engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and REST/GraphQL APIs
- Build and optimize microservices architecture
- Design relational and NoSQL databases
- Integrate third-party APIs including payment gateways and travel systems
- Optimize application performance using caching and asynchronous processing
- Implement event-driven systems using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS
- Collaborate with DevOps on Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD deployments
- Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions
Requirements
- 1-4 years of backend development experience
- Strong proficiency in Python (Django/FastAPI/Flask) or Node.js (Express/NestJS)
- Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and REST APIs
- Good understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, and System Design
- Knowledge of Docker, microservices, distributed systems, and application security
