About the role
Smallcase is hiring Software Backend Interns with a potential Pre-Placement Offer (PPO). The role is remote and open to candidates from the 2027 and 2028 batches. Interns will work on backend development using technologies such as Java, Python, Node.js, or Go, while building and working with REST APIs, databases, and software development practices. Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend software applications.
- Build and work with REST APIs and backend services.
- Work with databases as part of backend development.
- Apply Data Structures and Algorithms to solve engineering problems.
- Write clean and maintainable code.
- Use Git and follow software development practices.
- Debug issues and develop effective technical solutions.
- Collaborate with team members and work independently on assigned tasks.
Requirements
- Strong programming fundamentals and problem-solving skills.
- Good knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms.
- Proficiency in at least one backend language such as Java, Python, Node.js, or Go.
- Understanding of REST APIs, databases, and backend development.
- Familiarity with Git and software development practices.
- Good communication skills.

- Relevant backend projects or prior internship experience is a plus.
