About the role
Google is hiring Silicon Engineers for its Platforms and Devices team in Bengaluru for the 2026 university graduate intake. The role focuses on designing, developing, and implementing consumer hardware, including power- and performance-optimized chips, ASICs, and SoCs. Responsibilities
- Work with SoC teams to develop power- and performance-optimized chips.
- Contribute to the design, verification, and silicon implementation of ASICs and SoCs.
- Work on hardware design concepts involving CPUs, image processing, machine learning, computer vision, security, and video.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams on silicon development.
- Participate in the design, analysis, and prototyping of new hardware concepts.
- Collaborate with teams to automate SoC design flows.
- Support hardware development through manufacturing and product-oriented environments.
- Work with vendors and external partners to support components through manufacturing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with design concepts and computer hardware architecture.
- Internship, work experience, or personal project experience in Hardware, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- Experience in SoC/ASIC Design, Design Verification, Physical Design, or Design for Testability is preferred.
- Experience with Verilog/HDL or SystemVerilog coding is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Interest in consumer hardware and silicon engineering.
