Responsibilities
- Read, understand, and safely modify existing code without breaking working functionality.
- Trace incorrect numbers through data to identify root causes and fix the underlying logic.
- Build and debug reconciliation and data-integrity features across the MERN stack.
- Handle edge cases involving missing data, duplicates, mismatched sources, and partial returns.
- Verify work to ensure numbers and data tie out correctly.
- Clearly explain what was changed and why.
Requirements
- Comfortable with JavaScript and the MERN stack, or able to learn the stack quickly.
- Ability to understand an unfamiliar codebase and modify it safely.
- Strong debugging instinct and ability to identify root causes rather than simply patching issues.
- Strong focus on correctness and edge cases.
- Clear written communication skills.
- A strong sense of user needs and product thinking is a plus.
- No finance, GST, or accounting background is required.
