Python Pipeline Developer

About the role

FutureWorks is hiring a Python Pipeline Developer to build and maintain internal tools and automation that support production workflows across its VFX and animation studio. The role focuses on Python development, workflow automation, API integrations, AI/ML-assisted tooling, cloud infrastructure, and USD-based data workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python tools and automation for asset management, publishing, rendering, and workflow optimization
• Build desktop tools and internal applications and integrate Python with production applications
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across the production pipeline
• Collaborate with artists, supervisors, and production teams to convert workflow problems into technical solutions
• Review code, mentor junior developers, and maintain technical and deployment documentation
• Build and integrate AI/ML-assisted tooling into production workflows

Requirements

• 0–3 years of professional Python development experience
• Strong object-oriented programming fundamentals
• Experience building internal tools, automation, or applications used by others
• Experience integrating Python with a host application or platform through its API
• Strong Git skills
• Comfort working across Linux and Windows
