Apply via the official link. Airbus India is hiring an Intern for its Structures department in Bengaluru (JR10449142, posted 4 Nov 2026). It is a six-month internship, ideally starting January 2027, on a Continuum Damage Mechanics (CDM) fatigue-initiation prediction model integrated with Abaqus: improve the FE implementation, extend the models to multiaxial loading, plasticity and complex spectra, validate them against physical test results and write up the findings. Stipend not published; ₹15,000–25,000/month is a HireDoor market estimate.

Responsibilities

• Improve the finite element implementation of CDM fatigue models in Abaqus.
• Extend models to multiaxial loading, non-localisation, complex spectra and plasticity.
• Validate methods against PoC specimens and physical test results.
• Summarise findings and prepare a report.

Requirements

• Graduate/postgraduate student in Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Materials or Applied Mechanics.
• Solid mechanics, FEM, plasticity and hardening fundamentals.
• Hands-on Abaqus; user subroutines (UMAT, USDFLD) preferred.
• Programming in Fortran and Python.
• Available for six months from January 2027.
