Responsibilities
- Administer and operate OpenShift/Kubernetes environments, including deployments, troubleshooting, scaling, configuration, secrets, and networking basics.
- Build and maintain GitLab DevOps and CI/CD pipelines covering build, test, release workflows, approvals, quality gates, automation, and artifact management.
- Drive release automation, environment management, deployment strategies, and operational readiness.
- Debug Java/JVM applications, interpret logs, support builds, and collaborate on code-level diagnosis.
- Support and troubleshoot Kafka environments, including topics, partitions, producers, consumers, and offsets.
- Ensure availability, performance, and scalability of systems and services through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and capacity planning.
- Analyze and respond to system outages and disruptions and implement measures to prevent recurring incidents.
- Develop tools and scripts to automate operational processes and reduce manual workload.
- Monitor and optimize system performance and resource usage and address performance bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate reliability, scalability, and performance best practices into the software development lifecycle.
- Support security, risk, controls, governance, vulnerability management, secrets management, and auditability requirements.
- Stay informed about industry technology trends and contribute to technology communities.
Requirements
- Strong experience with OpenShift/Kubernetes administration and application operations.
- Experience with GitLab DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of DevOps engineering fundamentals, release automation, environment management, and deployment strategies.
- Java fundamentals with the ability to debug JVM applications, interpret logs, and support builds.
- Understanding of Kafka concepts including topics, partitions, producers, consumers, and offsets.
- Strong understanding of monitoring, observability, and operational readiness.
- Experience with incident response, troubleshooting, and production support.
- Strong automation and scripting skills.
- Ability to work closely with development, platform, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Understanding of risk, controls, governance, and security practices.
